| I really enjoyed our activity Thursday because it was interesting to see all of the slang. I knew most of it, but I don't generally use a lot of it. Also, it was interesting to see everyone's reactions to all of the slangs and reactions to a lot of the facts about female anatomy that we learned. With my background, I have learned most of it before.
I agree with the idea that not all slang is bad. Many of the terms can be used in a group of friends who are joking around or hanging out that don't mean at ALL to hurt someone. I do feel like a lot of the slang used for gay, lesbian, and homosexual are overly used. Also, the word gay is used a lot and, in my opinion, taking advantage of. Many people just use it as an adjective to describe something they think is stupid or something they don't like...'those shoes are gay'...'that band is gay'. I am straight, however I do have some friends who are not. I feel for them and can see in their faces the hurt sometimes that people don't really even realize they cause them. |
