transgender

I knew about transgender long before our class. I plan to go to med school, and thought it was horrible that the doctors push the parents to have their children operated on immediately. As a health professional, I will not push a parent to make an immediate decision like that. A decision like that, in my opinion, should be made by the only person who has to live with its affects most intensely, the child (or adolescent/adult) themself. Personally, if I was the parent who gave birth to a transgendered baby, I probably would not choose for them. I would love my child and raise them as they are. However, I guess you never really know how you will react until you are put into that situation.
