Circumcision

Last class we did an interesting activity where we formed groups of 4 and discussed the pros and cons of circumcision. Following our discussion, we as a group had come to a consensus that if we had to make the decision as a parent of a newborn child that we would circumcise our children. Circumcision is the process of removing the foreskin that covers the head of the penis, rendering it easier to clean and manage. In the United States, 85% of the male population is circumcised but in the world only 15% of men are circumcised. As a man, its honestly a wonder to me as to why a man would wait until adulthood to decide to have himself circumcised, despite the fact that maybe it was a decision his parents should have made when he was a baby. The chances of their being trauma for lost of skin is just like saying that theres a possibility that one would remember a surgery they've had as a baby. Psychological studies show that no one remembers anything before the age of three, so the chances of it being traumatizing to someone by the time they're an adult is very unlikely. Is there anyone that knows anyone who feels tramautized for not having foreskin?
